Obama, Bush, Gaza, Travolta… January 5, 2009

airObama..
I’m getting this feeling that Obama us going to be a pretty cool President. As a matter of fact, it’s almost as though one feels as though they will finally have a President who actually listens to the people – for a change.

I was reading today that Obama had his first real Air Force jet ride and ordered a burger and fries for lunch (once on-board). OK, maybe we don’t need to know his daily eating habits, but, I think he’s that type of guy. He’s the type of guy who will ask for a burger and fries, fish and chips or steak and potatoes. He does not seem to be like any former Presidents we’ve ever had. He rolls up his sleeves and digs right in.

One last word. I really don’t care what Obama spends (go for a trillion) to get people in this country back to work. Considering how much Bush and Company wasted during the eight years, whatever Obama spends to get this country back on track is fine by me – remember, you have to spend money to make money.

jebThe Bush Clan..
I also read today that Father George thinks that Jeb is ready for the Oval Office. No, sorry George, you and your clan had your chance and screwed up any possible Bush legacy. I think when history remembers the Bush clan, it will be a lesson in what not to do when running a country. I think the Bush clan has reaped the rewards of politics for generations to come.

I also think that on the day that Bush has that ride in the limo with Obama (one last time) he can take a good long look at the man sitting next to him and maybe, just maybe, finally come to the realization that the world has finally changed. Then again, Bush is not known for coming to terms with his failures and will move to build a library and corral the cows (or whatever they do in Crawford).

gazaGazooks!
I don’t think there’s any hope for the Israel/Gaza conflict. When the killing is done, then it will finally be over, however, the killing never seems to end. Folks, you’re in the Holy Land, start acting a bit more caring toward each other. Both sides are in the WRONG – there’s no RIGHT in the killing of women and children (let alone, your fellow man).

michaelTravolta…
I can’t think of anything worse than losing a child, let alone, your only son. Travolta is fine man with a lovely family. I think his best film (many may disagree) was “Michael” and he was not only endearing in that film but, I think that the character he played was spot-on, as to who he really is. Who he is “now” is a man who has lost a huge piece of his soul and I hope he recovers and continues his career, even in the wake of his loss. Condolences to the Travolta family.

OK, that’s my weekend take…
